Birthday, Zoo, Petting Zoo

On Saturday, I had the day off work, so Boyfriend and I went to the Zoo! This owl was eating some chicks.

This cat was large, and looked sort of sad.

There was a bird.

This was a llama type of animal. It kept looking at me. I captured it on film.
This chicken was running around everywhere!
What kind of animal is this? It looked like a cow, but it's tail was like another animal. I was scared, but tried to move on.
That night, I went bowling for my birthday! Some close special friends and relatives came too!
I probably got something good on this shot!
The next day, I saw some really big zucchinis!
I went to the petting zoo with this lil' guy!
He got to pat the bunnies!

Awww!!!

Awww!!
I think he's reaching for the food!
Animals!!
This turkey is named Mr. Guts. He is disgusting.
Awww... This is an alpaca! His name is Chip. At one point, I was standing on the other side of his pen, trying to fix something on my camera, and he kept coming over and peeking at me!

The lil' guy liked playing in the hay!
Who could love a goat? Boyfriend loves bunnies!

I had a great weekend, and it seemed long.

Blog

This is Hailey the dog. We met the other day. She visited me at work!
She had been on a long walk, so she was thirsty.
She knocked over the container, to reveal fantastic art.
Also, last night I bowled in a league as a spare for my cousin. It was fun. I did ok. I like bowling a lot.

Food & Animals

On Sunday, I went to Kam Ho restaurant with three of my sisters and some boyfriends.

This dog walked by. Boyfriend and I tend to like the same dogs.
Pandas. They are everywhere. When we went camping, a kid riding his bike was yelling what sounded like "Prepare for Panda Domination!" I am starting to prepare.
Sister at the dim sum table.
After the restaurant, we went to the BIG Petland on Pembina!
One of my sisters liked this bunny. It was very cuddly.. but we have a very cuddly rabbit at home, so we don't need a new one.
This cat looked like my friend Telly, but then he lifted his head. Still a nice colour.
I liked this bird. He looked a little mischievous. I think he liked posing for the shot.
After Petland, we went to Pet Traders. You can buy a Japanese Quail. I want a quail. They are $24.99. my mom says I can't get one.
Later, on Sunday evening, I baked cookies. I found out that my smallest cookie tray does not fit in my oven. I put them at a weird angle, and they burned. The rest of the batches were baked on a pizza pan. None of them burned. I ate only cookies yesterday. I had one today. I think they taste great.

Camping

I went camping with my sister and her friends last weekend. I really needed to get away for once this summer. We started out the trip by smashing the stereo with all sorts of objects, including a mini saw. We waited outside this Liquor Mart in Lac Du Bonnet, for it to open. You should have seen the rush of people at noon. It was amazing... like a parade.

I met Sam when we first got to our campsite. I knew it would be a good weekend!

I didn't touch him, but my sister's friend petted him and said he was soft. This is our campsite. The tent closest to the front was very difficult to set up. It took 5 people.
This is the first glance I had of nature. It's not the most impressive falls in Manitoba, but it did the trick for me.Other direction.
This is the lake... well, one of two in the area.
This is the "jumping rock". It is commonly used to jump off of. The woman in blue seemed a little afraid, and unsure. I don't think she ever ended up jumping.
We went on an adventure up the "mountain". We got a little lost for a bit, and I separated from the group!
The top of the hill was awesome! The pictures don't really show how high up we were. It was high.
At first, I was scared to walk close to the edge.. but eventually I DID IT!
I found this shirt off the path behind a rock. It may be evidence of foul play.. so I figured I should document it.
We made a fire and cooked hot dogs!
We tried to make boiled water, but that turned out to be terrifying. I was given quite thorough instruction beforehand, on the use of the stove, but it didn't do what it was supposed to do. Needless to say, we put out the fire, and didn't use the stove ever again.
In the morning, I got up early and went for some nature walks by myself. This was the reason I came on the trip.
The forest was really pretty, and there was a lot of moss, and mushrooms.
I saw three Grouse. It was very exciting for me, and I struggled to contain my excitement whilst photographing them. I kind of know how it feels for those people who end up with fuzzy shots of Bigfoot.
Speaking of fuzzy... I found a "dead" stuffed animal.
Overall, I had a very nice time on our trip. I LOVE NATURE!
